The Light Goes On in the Dark Closet of Despair

I wonder how many other bloggers are afflicted with the same blog-related illness I suffer? You know, the one where all my best blog posts are written only in my mind while I am taking a shower, mowing the lawn, cleaning out the catbox, or even sleeping. That's not the bad part. The bad part is that once I sit down at the keyboard sometime later, anxious to type my thoughts for all the world to see.

And
Then
Nothing.

My brain goes "sProIng!BoINk" and it all evaporates into the god forsaken ethereal mists of blog purgatory or the Twilight Zone or where ever all the masterfully conceived yet never written blog entries are snatched to. It is so damn frustrating. If I happen to start typing then it all ends up sounding like crap and I delete it and pound my head against the monitor in hopes of jarring loose just a tiny morsel of the vision I had. All for naught and BMNB goes another day without so much as an original creative grunt to grace it's page.

Oh, I could fall back on some logical and sane reasons for my lack of creative spirit but it would be giving in to the denial that I just have not put forth the sincere effort. Count this post as being maybe a tiny first step in the right direction to coming out of my dark closet of despair and once again entering the world of creating original blog content. I am not guaranteeing anything except I am doing my damnedest to live in the Now and Here one clock tick at a time. We'll see what comes out of that.

I have the very same freaking problem! It's really annoying.

I choose to continue to live in a state of denial. It has nothing to do with my lack of creative spirit. In fact, I believe that a little gnome (related to the one who steals all my socks and puts dust on everything) is STEALING all of my good blog post ideas and posting them on his own blog, the little bugger.

I'm sane, I am. There really are little gnomes... (insert maniacal laughter here).

Ah! The old "bloggers block" got you. Sometimes, we just don't have anything to say. Good for you for keeping it real.
Peace..............

Maybe Charles wants to say something and needs a pair of touch-typing hands to bring his thoughts onto the internet. You know, automatic writing. Dunno if it's possible. Just a thought.
Peace Tony.
Your post explaining that you had nothing to write ended up as one of your better ones. Let's hope that bloggers block of yours doesn't let up just yet ;-)

UGH! I hate that! One day they'll be hooking people straight up to computers and this so won't be an issue. Until then, the frustration continues...

I have the same problem. I can think of a wonderfully witty blog post and then when I write it (post-shower)it just sounds dumb. Sheesh.

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about (jeez!, it's fairly evident by my recent blog entries!) . . . but, you have no reason to feel the need to apologize, rationalize, or try to justify what you're experiencing . . . it's just this thing called LIFE that plays its ironic little jokes on us, much to our frustration.

btw, for something you considered a "block," I thought it was very profound.

I have the same problem. It's either that or all my best writing is done in someone elses comments section. lol

what else is a blog if not a glimpse into another's mind, and heart. if it's real... then i always feel honored to have been given the glimpse.

i am honored again.
